WHAT:
The Treasure Valley Music Teachers Association will be hosting a first-ever Music Fair May 29-30 at the Esther Simplot Academy for the Performing Arts.  The Music Fair culminates in a world-class headlining concert Saturday evening at the Moseley Center Boys & Girls Club gymnasium at 6:15pm.

Internationally acclaimed concert pianist, Andrew Armstrong will be giving a recital at 7:00pm with local student musicians opening for him.  Admission is free.  This concert is a gift from the Treasure Valley Music Teachers Association in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County.

“It is rewarding to be able to help make music accessible to all youth and families in our area.  Hosting the TVMTA helps us to ensure that every child has equal access to the arts.” says Colleen Braga, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County.  “The Clubs are working hard to provide low cost activities that benefit local families”

Before the concert student musicians from around the Treasure Valley will perform in themed recitals throughout the weekend at the Simplot Academy.  Recital themes include Classical, Jazz/Bluegrass, Original Composition, TV/Movies/Contemporary, and Duets.  The event will feature a Jazz presentation by Justin Nielsen and ArtsWest High School, and a masterclass by concert pianist, Andrew Armstrong.

Sponsors for the event include the Treasure Valley Music Teachers Association, Dunkley Music, Brown Rental and Idaho Power.  For more information and recital itineraries, visit www.idahomta.org/local-php.
